Fabulous Ladies Connection Party

Nourish your mind and soul through a Fabulous Connections Party

Nourish your mind and soul through a Fabulous Connections Party

Yesterday I threw a “Fabulous Ladies Connection Party.”  I moved from Philly to Phoenix nearly three years ago and I still don’t have that strong of a network.  So, I decided to do something about it….

I invited a small handful of fabulous women to my home and asked them to bring along another fabulous woman that I didn’t know.  In total, there were ten of us at the party and amazing connections were made.

Nourishment extends beyond just how and what you eat.  Who you spend your time with also factors in to your overall well being.  Make sure to surround yourself with healthy people who feed your mind and soul.

People tend to hang around people who are like them.  So, the best way to broaden your network of fantastic people is to capitalize on the connections of the healthy people in your life.

Have your own Fabulous Connection Party to nourish yourself.  Here are five suggestions to hosting your own successful event:

  • PLAN WITH INTENTION – I wanted to add more women to my network, so I purposely invited just ladies.  Set your gathering any way you want, just be specific to the people you invite about your goal – to meet other spectacular people you don’t already know.
  • SERVE A NOURISHING MENU – Make your menu colorful, fun, and nourishing.  Avoid fried or heavy foods and skip anything that is too labor intensive during the party.  You want to be free from cooking and open to chat and network with your guests.  (That’s really the whole point, right?)  Finger foods, salads, and appetizers are wonderful selections for this type of gathering.  Get a copy of the menu I served.
  • ASK GUESTS TO PARTICIPATE -  People love to participate.  By asking guests to bring a friend AND a food item (I prefer people bring a dessert or favorite beverage) it makes them an active participant in the success of the event.  This makes them more excited about the event and less likely to bail out at the last minute.
  • KEEP IT SMALL – You want to keep the event to a size that is manageable and personal.  If it gets too large people won’t be able to connect with everyone and it will feel overwhelming and stressful (especially for the host.)  Since stress isn’t particularly nourishing, it’s good to minimize it.  I wouldn’t recommend inviting more than 10 people – so the maximum number who would attend would be 20 if everyone could attend and brought a guest.
  • HAVE FUN – With everything in life, a goal is to have fun.  Without it, what’s the point?

To get started planning your party, just pick a day and time that works for you and select your guest list.  I chose a Sunday at 2:00 p.m. for several reasons.  First, most people don’t have plans Sunday afternoons and traffic is usually light.  Also, since most people have to work on Monday morning they don’t tend to stay too late and if you choose to serve alcohol, most people won’t drink too much on a Sunday mid-afternoon.

Have a great time and be sure to come back and post how your party went!
